Arthur's Kids

September 10th was a very exciting day for me. My 4 yr old daughter took her first ballroom class. Some may know this and many may not but I took 5-6 yrs of training in ballroom myself and did some competing. I started at an Arthur Murray in Indiana but then transferred to the Chicago downtown studio when my job relocated me to Chicago. I took lessons there for a while and even danced while I was pregnant. I danced all the way through my pregnancy but stopped in my 8th month. My last performance was with my daughter in my belly. I was 8 months pregnant in heels doing a rumba, cha cha, swing, fox trot melody of 4 songs all referencing baby somehow with my amazing instructor who put it all together flawlessly, Jimmy Mulligan. Four years later, people still remember this routine who witnessed it at their yearly Newsome Twosome event. Jimmy is amazing and I miss our lessons dearly! Now I get to return with that very child who I was pregnant with and it's now her turn to start dancing on her own two feet. Arthur Murray Lakeview has started a kids program and today was their first day and I couldn't be more excited. I had one very excited little girl and she had a blast today.
